The location was great and fab, not too far away from Centre for Visual Arts.
Definitely, there was elevator missing.

the hotel was a decent base for enjoying a shopping area, really close to main shopping area and a grocery store. the single room we stayed in was big and compact with an amazing view.
It had too soft beds, maybe it was bad luck.

This was our 2nd visit to Iceland and we wanted to travel further than Reykjavik, we decided to have 2 nights in Akureyri itself and selected the Hotel Akureyri, I have to say it was a longer drive than we anticipated but on arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted, given our room keys immediately, and our rooms were warm, comfortable and very clean. The beds had lovely light feather duvets and pillows, a good nights sleep was had. The location was great and shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. The breakfast was continental, the hot part of the offering being waffles that you made yourself, the waffle maker and prepared batter was provided and they were very good. Alan who usually does the night shift was particularly helpful to us, giving us tips on where to go, ensuring we filled our 1 full day out in that area with ideas for places we would never have found or visited if not for his help. On our 2nd night he even knocked on our door just after we had arrived back in around 11 pm to tell us the Northern Lights were visible if we wanted to see them, and we did - not very spectacular for us but we did see them. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. There are different things to see in the North of the Island and this hotel is ideal for a short stay.

This hotel is lovely, and being just a few steps away from the fine Akureyri Botanical Garden made my morning walks lovely.

Last time I stopped, had big size room with nice view. Location: the hotel was just next door to a very nice area, close to the Akureyri church, and with very convenient access from the main route, Iceland for the last two weeks, and downtown in one direction.

The large, comfortable bed ensured a fantastic night of sleep, and the free snacks added a nice touch. I wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the bike rides along the waterfront.

300m away from city center. We had the view facing the lake which was excellent
The room was shockingly small. The toilet was clean but the poor building structure did not filter the foul air from the drainage system. It was horrible to be breathing in that condition. Reported to the reception and they sprayed some air freshner. That stayed for a while and it dissipated. We were out most of the time (we stayed for 5 days) so really didnt want to kick a big fuss. wish it had been better. this is the only sad part of our stay in akureyri. Staff at the hotel were mostly very young students from university. They lack the warm hospitality of a small hotel. Maybe it is their culture. I stayed in Smari Hotel in Reykjavik and the Asian staff there were awesome. They make you feel like old friends.

The hotel had a fantastic location just a couple of minutes from the center of Akureyri. My room was small but modern and comfortable. The blackout curtains made a huge difference for sleeping during the long summer days. I enjoyed the friendly staff at reception, always ready to help. The breakfast area was painfully cramped. Even though the food was varied and good, the seating was limited. I felt bad that many guests had to eat while standing. The noise from outside was a bit distracting at times, especially early in the morning. It's a good spot if you don't mind some minor inconveniences.

The hotel was in a good location with nice views from windows.
The room was very small, hardly big enough for the double bed, with no seating other than a small desk and chair.

The hotel is in a fantastic central location, yet with amazing views of the mountains and estuary, within a couple of minutes walk of the main bus park, for those taking day excursions etc., it couldnt be more convenient. Also 2 minutes walk from lovely restaurants, bars, shops etc.
The rooms felt very hot, also curtains did not fit, so their was no protection from the 24 hrs of daylight, hence very little sleep!
